Making a Long-Term Impact on Global Communities

Our Mission Statement:

Make A Change International is a global humanitarian organization that provides medical care and public health education to under-served communities by supporting health care professionals and students on medical service trips throughout the world, with the ultimate goal of implementing opportunities to deliver sustainable health care.

Our Purposes:

The Corporation, Make A Change International, Inc. is organized exclusively as a charitable organization for the purposes of providing health care services internationally to underprivileged and under-served communities and supporting health care professionals in the costs of providing those health care services.

A Global Effect

To have an effect is to make a change that is the direct result of an action, an impact that comes when something is done. Our goal is to make it possible for those equipped with medical skills and knowledge to take action, make a change, and see impact in under-served communities all over the world.

Our Name and Logo

Everything should have meaning behind it, and an organization that hopes to truly make a difference around the world should too.  Make A Change International was inspired by the song, Man in the Mirror, by Michael Jackson.  Aaron was performing the song at a talent show, and singing the words caused them to stick deep and have new meaning for his life, and hopefully will inspire people in a new way as well.

I’m Gonna Make A Change, For Once In My Life
It’s Gonna Feel Real Good, Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right

I’m Starting With The Man In the Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change

Our logo was also designed to have meaning behind it. We utilized the delta symbol, which is the Greek symbol for change.  In our logo, this also functions for the “A”.  The three lines that make up the delta symbolize the three goals we have within the organization (read below) as well as the three progressive stages within our organization:

(1) To help support global medical mission endeavors

(2) To partner with other organizations and build relationships to help further current endeavors

(3) To establish clinics around the world that will be long term and self sustainable.

The three colors also have meaning: orange is considered the color of health, blue the color of depth and stability, and black is the base because it is foundational.

Our Goals

  1. Raising and distributing financial support obtained through private donations, fundraising events, and organizational partnerships
  2. Establishing partnerships with individuals and organizations around the world to promote long-term access to healthcare services
  3. Organizing and leading medical mission trips that will provide medical care, deliver health education, and address public health needs in under-served communities throughout the world with the goal of establishing long-term, self-sustainable health

Where does our money go?

  • First, we believe in transparency.  We want everyone to know exactly where the money that is donated goes, and if there are ever questions about that, we welcome you to ask.

  • The money we raise will be used to help medical personnel, including doctors, physician assistants, nurses, and students of these disciplines, to pay for the costs associated with doing global medical service work

  • These costs will include travel (both international flights and local travel), overseas food/water and lodging, travel vaccinations, and medical supplies.

  • Each year there will be some costs associated with keeping the organization running, these will include costs of filing paperwork with the government, legal fees, website costs, and in the future paying salaries to officers and other employees deemed necessary to effectively run the corporation.

  • Any person with a degree in a healthcare field, or a student pursuing a degree, who can demonstrate financial need in order to do a medical mission trip, where they will provide free medical services to under-served populations, may apply.

  • The purpose of the mission trip must be to primarily provide medical services, including medical care, health education, or addressing public health needs, and must be in an under-served community in the world.

  • Our main focus is to reach underprivileged communities in third world countries; though, a medical service trip seeking to serve any population in the world who does not have regular access to medical services will be considered.

  • This organization is partnered with individuals and organizations of religious and non-religious backgrounds. The primary purpose of all trips should be focused around addressing medical needs; however, showing love and compassion, and bringing hope and healing through other modalities, such as religion or music, increases the effect we have on communities, providing that these other modalities are respectful of all individuals in the group and most importantly, respectful of the cultural and religious beliefs of the communities being reached.

  • Individuals and groups of any religious or non-religious background may apply providing the primary focus remains medical service.
